eight hours of lifting bikes up and down stairs and lofts and hanging racks really just caught up with my shoulder muscles.

where do you meet other cyclists?
at a biker bar? a pedal biker bar? do you just start talking to them at stoplights instead of the awkward head-nod-and-pretend-to-tie-your-shoe thing? or do you just take your current friends and try to make them ride bikes? can i even expect them to be as into as i am?
i got stood up on a ride today and im sad.
i just need someone i can force to get to ride...
i can’t seem to get anyone to go for a bike ride with me.
please someone please.
im so nice.
sometimes.

in places like florida and southern california there should be shops where you can rent winter clothes really cheap and in the summer they can rent beach clothes to tourists who don’t own those things.
that shit is expensive and we literally need them for three days a year, but when we need them we really need them.
i have no heat in my car and i dont own a windbreaker or any jacket...

since im riding twenty miles to work and working for eight hours every day from now on, i bought a bunch of cliff bars that i’ve never tried including black cherry almond, cool mint chocolate, chocolate almond fudge, and blueberry crisp.
i’m pretty excited about it, but nervous about the ride home in the dark.

the good and bad thing about cycling is the freedom.
you can literally go anywhere on a bike, except maybe under water or on a plane. you can get to school or work in the same amount of time, only you’re not sitting in traffic in a big metal box of pollution for 30 minutes, you’ve got the wind in your hair and you’re flying around cars like its what you were born to do.

carrying textbooks/sketch books, notebooks, art supplies, a change of clothes, a water bottle, and a u-lock vs. carrying only a water bottle:
it takes me about 45 minutes to travel the six miles to class carrying all kinds of shit to class
since i have work right after class, i’ve been having to wake up early to get my minimum ten miles a day in before driving to class.
it takes me...

now, I’m not saying that I’ve conquered the world but I’ve avoided numberless early traffic jams, bypassed some common pitfalls and have met some strange, wonderful people one of whom was myself—someone my father never knew.

i have to take all of these online courses (237 of them actually) and stuff for work and like half of the first section is “how to sell to women” “marketing to women” “WSD” which i feel like is supposed to be the oposite of sexist but still feels pretty sexist.
but it shouldnt i guess.

after spending so much time with those fancy shmancy cost-more-than-my-rent-for-a-year bikes at the shop, its really nice to come home to my cheap ‘ol schwinny
i am so excited for my new job at david’s world cycle
i start tomorrow.
i’m just so excited, i work six days a week (seven over the summer term) and everyone there is cool and not snobby. and its only ten miles away so i can ride there on the weekends since i wont have time to ride there after classes during the week.
i also quit my pizza hut job and got two theatre jobs so...
its starting to get busy again (you know, with three jobs and being a full time student) so i keep trying to make excuses to go ride that wont be looked at as “procrastinating” or “wasting time” like “oh i have to go to the bank” or “oh im out of index cards i have to go to walgreens really quick”
like i have class at 11:30 and i haven’t done...
